Am i better of getting an MSW or a masters in psych followed by a PhD?

I have almost completed my undergrad as a psych major with very good grades. I want to counsel people one on one and learn about all the different styles and techniques thereapies. In NY where I live you can bill 3rd party w an msw but is what I'm looking for more of a psych path?
